Dawaru means gong in Akan. A gong is as type of percussion musical instrument made out of metal. It is played by striking themetal with a small piece of metal. The gong is used to call for attention or draw awareness to certain things. It represents alertness and dutifulness. The symbol is meant to inspire faithfulnes and loyal service amongst the citizens.
